How to Fit Plus-Size Boots for Curvy Calves

Just follow our simple measuring suggestions to find a beautiful pair of boots that fit and you can reduce the likelihood of having to return them. The shaft height of each boot is generally about 14” high measured from the top of the heel and each boot description on our site will give you the shaft height for that style.

Using a tape measure, please measure the circumference of your calf 14" up from the base of your foot to find your correct calf size.
For petites: 5'3" and under - please measure the circumference of your calf at its widest point instead of at 14" since the boot shaft will fall at a higher point on your calf than on someone who is taller. It is also a good idea to order a style an inch or so larger than your measurement since that tends to fit better on someone in this height range.

Our boots all come in several foot widths ranging from medium (M) to extra wide (WW). If you want to have room for a warm sock, then you can order the next wider width or next larger foot size. Note: the letters next to the shoe size refer to the width of the foot NOT the calf:

M = Medium (regular) width foot
W = Wide width foot
WW = Extra wide width foot

All of our boots (unless noted) are manufactured with full zippers and elastic gores which can expand up to another full inch. Even though we already carry some of the largest wide calf boots on the market, our styles can even be altered to enlarge them further. Any competent shoemaker can make the elastic gore larger or even add leather to the seams to increase their circumference.
